I just noticed this over at xkcd.com. If you’ve never read the book “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card, you should go right now to amazon.com and order it. If you get the reference, then it’s really funny.

Brief summary of the book… After Earth is attacked by aliens and barely survives they decide to send a fleet to retaliate/wipe them out so Earth is never attacked again (by them anyway). Since the ships are travelling at near-light-speed it takes years to get there. So in the meantime they scour the earth for the best, brightest, most aggressive and ambitious children they can find and train them to become the best tactical geniuses they can be. The kids come of age right at the time when the fleet reaches the alien’s homeworld. But it’s mostly about the kids with a sort of Lord of the Flies type of feel to it.
