Thanks to a good friend, I got the opportunity to head down to Redskins Training Camp this year and hang out in the VIP section.

We are THIS close to the training area.

The VIP section was pretty nice, offering tents, food, drink, and a place to sit after sweltering in the sun. The majority of fans were seated along a small hill next to the field. My only gripe from sitting in VIP was that a lot of action happened in front of the non-VIP area, where the majority of fans were. That’s awesome for the fans, less so for those in VIP :) So next time I think that’s probably where I’ll hang out.

What mostly stood out to me was a very positive vibe I got off of RG3. He carried himself with swagger while moving around the field. I didn’t get to see him actually running the offense (they were on the far side away from me) so I don’t know if it’s translated to his play. But considering the last 2 years, seeing a positive RG3 is a good thing for him and for this team.

The running backs looked fast and strong, and the offensive lineman looked mean. I think together that’s a pretty good combination for the coming season.

I took a few hundred pics while I was out there, but I’ve whittled it down a bit for the gallery below. I’m releasing these images under the Creative Commons 4.0 license which basically means you can use the image however you like as long as you give credit.
