OK, so work has been pretty hectic, but it has calmed back down to normalcy. So time to catch up on some things…

Don’t miss Battlestar Galactica Season 4 (the final season) premiere on April 4th. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you again later ;). Check the recap on scifi.com, where they give you all three seasons recapped in 10mins, or something like that.

AICN also reports that Variety reports that Sci Fi Channel has given the go-ahead for a Caprica prequel. It’ll start as a TV Movie and then “we’ll see” from there, just like the original BSG mini-series.

A&E is going to air what looks like a mini-series of an update to The Andromeda Strain. Which was in turn based on the book by Michael Crichton. The plot in a nutshell is basically about a really bad virus that kills everybody and a team of scientists that are trying to prevent its spread, and/or find a cure. The book was pretty cool, if I recall correctly. And the story has been done more recently in films like Outbreak. Notable actors in this one is Daniel Dae Kim (presumably speaking all english here) and Ricky Schroeder.

In the “movies to watch” category, check out Tropic Thunder. The trailer is available here from Yahoo! Movies. Story in a nutshell is some prima-donna actors are making a Vietnam War movie. Well, the director decides to take them “really on location” and drops them in the middle of southeast asia. The really bizarre part that makes this notable is that Robert Downey Jr plays a white actor who undergoes surgery (i.e. blackface) to play the part of a black man. Check the trailer, he looks kinda like Orlando Jones :) Others in the film are Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Nick Nolte.

Speed Racer has a new trailer up on Yahoo! Movies. I’m not sure how I feel about this movie. There’s a lot of CG, and some REALLY psychedelic color palettes. The cast is interesting with Christina Ricci, Mathew Fox, Susan Sarandon, and John Goodman, but the plot in the trailers just looks so… thin.

According to AICN, the actor playing Kyle Reese in the new Terminator 4 movie (Note: not the TV series) is Anton Yelchin. He’ll also be a young Chekov in the upcoming Star Trek movie.

SOCCER

Wooooohoooooo!!!!!

USA is in the midst of qualifying for the Olympics. The u-23 team played to a 1-1 tie against Cuba, then beat Panama and Honduras by 1-0 to win their group. They play in the semi-finals Thursday night on FSC (Fox Soccer Channel, check your local listings) against Canada. If they win this match, they are in the Olympics no matter what happens in the final match.

Anyone playing on the team not named “Freddy Adu” had an OK game against Cuba. So the draw was, I think, a fair result. It must be said that Freddy was on fire. The entirety of the offense was created or finished by him. In addition to scoring the only goal, he hit the post, and just barely missed on a few others. If luck was on his side he could have have maybe 3 or 4 goals that day. The Panama match was a much better game overall by the US team, and then back down a little against Honduras. We’ll see how they do against Canada.

DC United started play in the CONCACAF Champions Cup by playing to a 1-1 draw in Jamacia last week, then pummeling them 5-0 at home at RFK yesterday. The key points to take away is that Gallardo is the real deal, and the team as a whole is still rusty. Read about it here.

Hope thats enough to keep you guys entertained for a little while…
