OK, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Lots has happened so I’ll try and recap…

Sports…

  • The Redskins lost to the Titans. People beforehand were saying “We can’t lose to these guys, they are WINLESS, as in Zero wins, as in haven’t won yet this season.” Well, guess what? They are now 1-5 after a bye week and we are 2-5 heading into a bye week. Are we really that far from them? People are still talking about how we can maybe, possibly still make the playoffs. Is anybody still talking about the Titans making the playoffs?
  • The ‘Skins lost (predictably) to the Colts. No surprise there. It does not take much to derail any momentum we have. We were actually leading at half-time and a quick TD by the Colts and a few three-and-outs and all of a sudden the Colts were on a 23-0 tear. Only a late TD made the score not THAT embarassing.
  • DC United lost to the Chicago Fire… again… making it three straight losses heading into the playoffs. This team has our number, period. They match up against us better than anybody else in the league. I can only hope that New England kicks then out of the playoffs so we don’t have to see them.
  • DC United beat Red Bull NY in the first game of the playoffs. No big surprise there as we have THEIR number. Jaime Moreno finally looked alive again and was active all evening. This team will only go as far as he takes us.

Personal…

  • Got my wisdom teeth removed. They weren’t actively causing me pain, but they would get aggravated every now and again, and it was happening more and more often. So I decided to get them pulled. It hurt like hell. My bottom teeth we impacted and had to be broken into bits to be removed. They then had to fill in the hole they left with ground up cow bone. Yes, I said “Cow Bone”. I swelled up and my face looked like Jabba-the-Hut and missed an additional two days of work than I had expected. It took about a full week of eating soup before I could actually chew solid foods. I still can’t open my mouth the whole way and my jaw gets “tired” if I try to chew stuff. Oh well…
  • Luke did not get put to sleep. He started walking better the week before we were going to put him down, and we thought we’d feel guilty about putting him to sleep before it was time. So he’s hung around for the last two weeks. Now he’s been bad for a few days again so it looks like the time is approaching again.

Now I gotta get back to my regular posting…
