I have no idea what a Hadron is. But it sounds awfully dangerous. Especially when they’re being collided in a, um, Super Collider.
CERN to Morons: Large Hadron Collider Won’t Destroy Earth. Morons.
I’m all about pushing boundaries of physics and stuff. But doesn’t the fact that you’re trying to create “new” particles potentially raise the possibility that one of these “new” particles could explode the Earth in a gloriously unspectacular “poof” like in the movie Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy?
I’m not saying I think it’s likely, or that I will spend the next six months trying to build a spaceship to escape before someone blows up the planet. I’m just saying its possible, is all.
