Well, I’m recovering from the first Flu of the year. Not the worst I’ve ever had, but quite annoying nonetheless. It started with a sore throat on Wednesday, moved up into my nose (made for runny nose, sniffles) on Thursday enough to make me leave work early. I HATE being at work with the sniffles. Some who know me may say I’m a bit of a baby about this, but thats just me. Anyway Thursday night into Friday it hit me full force. Had a fever of 100.9, really sore throat (like halfway between nasal passage and tonsils), and lots of snot. I had to do some work that day since we were slammed in the office and had lots of stuff due. Fortunately, I finished a bit after noon and passed out the rest of the day. Saturday I awoke to a pleasant 101.5 degree fever and the drippy snot had turned into that nice gooey snot that just plugs everything up. Throat hurt like hell. Sunday the fever had dropped back down to 100.1 and the sore throat had gone south into my lungs. I had two spasmodic episodes where I couldn’t stop coughing, they were real fun. Now today, no fever (actually low at 97.5), throat is a bit itchy but not sore, and am left with just a flemmy cough. Six days of this shit is more than enough for me.

Whenever I get one of these flu/colds I always get a little paranoid thinking back to my bout with pneumonia a few years ago, so I’m extra careful with rest and keeping an eye on my temperature (I’m sure I lost quite a few brain cells due to high fever). So tonite its off to bed early and hopefully I won’t be too discombobulated for work tomorrow. I think there is a smorgasbord of work waiting for me…
