As it so happens, these are the trailers of the movies I want to watch this summer, listed in order of their release dates…

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Trailer #3 – Opening this weekend (May 23rd, 2014). A slight #skynet vibe as the Sentinels we create to defend us from mutants eventually turn on us and we have to send Wolverine back in time to convince an original Xavier and Magneto to work together. I’ve heard rumblings this is as good as/better than the Captain America Winter Soldier movie that I still haven’t seen yet.

Edge of Tomorrow

Trailer #3 – WAY more info about the movie appears here. You get a better look at the aliens and bit more of the plot. If i’m inferring correctly the aliens can also rewind time and they have some secret plot that is not related to the main battlefield action we’ve seen so far. Kudos for a plausible powersuit. Opens June 6th, 2014.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction

Trailer #2 – DINOBOTS. Need I say moar? FIRE BREATHING DINOBOTS! Who is the new baddie? Is that Galvatron? In theaters June 27th, 2014.

Interstellar

Trailer #2 – This is a GREAT trailer. It sets the stage but gives away nothing. We have clearly used up all the resources on the planet, possibly jacked up the environment, and have only one way out… Go to another planet. The musical score of the trailer is brilliant, I can only hope the final movie score lives up to it. There is a lot of real science in this movie so for that reason alone, I’m dying to see this movie. The spaceship looks like it either folds space or uses some sort of wormhole. Opens November 2014.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Trailer #2 – The link below is to the 2K version of the trailer via JoBlo. I’ll admit when I first saw the trailer I wasn’t overly enthused, but the more I watch it the more I like it. The movie seems like it will be a fun movie/story set in a great marvel universe. There’s aliens everywhere, spaceships, and laser beams. The Collector makes a brief appearance in the trailer, not sure how much he’ll be involved in the full movie. Watch in theaters August 1st, 2014

Godzilla

Trailer #2 – This one is already out in theaters. From geeks I trust, the word is that this is a great, must-see movie and has already grossed almost $200M worldwide. Offering a great build-up to the Godzilla reveal and a tease to the next movie. I’ve heard that Cranston and Watanabe don’t have as big a role as you might think from watching the trailers, but I’m OK with that even though Watanabe‘s “let them fight” is a great tagline.
