This is the third Apple related post I’ve done this week, which is probably more than I posted about Apple in the entirety of 2008. However, I was listening to TWIT, and they talked about this iPhone app and it was very cool. Unfortunately, there is no Blackkberry or Palm version of it.
It’s called “AroundMe” and it basically shows you what is “around” you using the built-in GPS in the iPhone. So let’s say you’re at the office and wondering where to go to lunch. First, go walk outside because you can’t get AT&T’s 3G indoors. Then pull up this app, and it will show you nearby stuff like stores, restaurants, starbucks, etc.
