The prequel to one of my favorite TV shows, Battlestar Galactica, finally has a teaser/promo. Check it out here at scifi.com.
I have to say, it isn’t what I was expecting at all. I’m not sure what I was expecting… but this isn’t it. From what I had previously heard, the story line takes place some 50 or so years before the events in BSG. On or around the time of the first Cyclon war. I suppose I thought it would tell more of the 1st war, maybe show how life was on a daily basis for them. Maybe go into the back story of the cylons and how they decided to become more human looking.
The trailer, however, shows one scientist making an artificial girl/young woman. Apparently a replica of a daughter who died. Presumably this is the precursor to the human-looking cylons, but how did they get from there to *there*? Did the Cylons steal the tech, or did this guy give it to them?Did people react so unfavorably to the idea of “copying” people that they booted him out of humanity and he picked up with the Cylons?
Definitely asks a lot more than it answers.
